Evergreen small tree / shrub, native to Japan, China and Korea with very small, dark green, glossy leaves and white flowers and black fruits on mature trees. Famous for its use as Topiary Cloud Trees and widely seen in Japanese gardens. Makes a good alternative to box for topiary and an excellent species for Bonsai.

Packet of 10 seeds
Our seeds are hand packed in our unique, reusable, paper packets and a detailed growing guide is supplied to help you get the best from your seeds.
Sowing Instructions: Sow at any time of the year. Sow in pots at a depth of about 2mm in a moist, peat-based seed compost, eg. Levington. Place pots in polythene bags to prevent the compost drying out and put in the fridge or other cold place between 2-5C for 12 weeks. Then move to a propagator or seal in a polythene bag and maintain an optimum temperature of 16-21C. Keep the compost just moist at all times. Germination can be slow and erratic but should occur after 30-90 days. As the seedlings emerge, gradually increase ventilation by opening the bag or propagator vents.
Alternatively, sow as above, seal in a polythene bag and place in a cold frame or sheltered part of the garden and let nature take its course as the seasons change. (I personally find this gives the best results)
Growing Instructions: Grow the seedlings on in cooler conditions with plenty of light, but shaded from direct sun, repotting as necessary. Likes a sunny or semi shaded position
