Item details

Love On The Horizon Quilt Block foundational paper piecing pattern is sized for 12"x12" (fits 6"x6" block in center - sold separate) and 5"x5" (fits 2"x2" mini charm block in center - sold separate) finished quilt blocks. (BOTH sizes with two variations each are included in the PDF download).

(NO 6"x6" or mini charm blocks for centers of hearts are included in this purchase, only the heart pieces to surround the center quilt blocks are and some additional blank customizing pieces. Tomte/Mini Charm blocks in center of heart in photos are for example purposes only.)

Love On The Horizon blocks can be used in various projects like quilts, table runners, placemats, decorative pillows, or wallhangings. Also included with this purchase is a separate PDF with add-on pieces that go with my mini charms and tomte blocks to customize the center block as you wish. (See listings: http://etsy.me/2tp4W7u http://etsy.me/2tZZaej http://etsy.me/2FD95be ).

Adding your favorite 6“x6” block to the center of the Large Heart will then create a 12“x12” block to be used in your project (making quilts go especially quicker to finish!). The large heart has two variations, one using your favorite 6”x6” block (whether you use a regular block without a horizon line or one of mine that is part of my 'horizon series' blocks - see 2nd photo) and the second one to create a scene inside the heart with any of my mini charm blocks that are part of the ‘horizon series’ (See 3rd photo.)

Adding any of your favorite of my 2”x2” mini charm blocks (whether you use a block with or without a horizon line to it) to the center of the small heart will then create a 5”x5” block that can be used in quilts and other projects like small keepsake pouches, ornaments and whatever your creative heart can dream up! (See 4th and 5th photos.)

{For a complete and up-to-date-list of blocks included in my 'horizon series', please search my blog mossandlotus.wordpress.com for “Horizon Series Blocks‘.}

{Note: there are no 'Y seams' in any of the blocks}

This Love On The Horizon block is a great addition to any of my Tomte quilt blocks (seen in photos as center block) which are part of the 'horizon series' (sold separate). The block can of course be made with a Valentine or Winter theme, but it can also work well with a Wedding, Spring or Birthday theme!! I wonder what you'll come up with!

Patterns and tips, plus instructions for assembling sections together are included in the PDF. Basic paper piecing instructions are NOT included. Experience with foundational paper piecing and standard sewing supplies and tools are needed to complete this quilt block. (A quick search online or YouTube will pull up a great selection of helpful tutorials if you're just getting started learning paper piecing!!). You will need a printer to print the patterns in the PDF in order to sew the blocks. A PDF reader is needed for this pattern. If you do not have one, Adobe Reader is available online, usually for free.

Please convo me here on Etsy or direct message me on Instagram at MossandLotus with any questions you may have.
