Aurifil lana wool thread. 50% wool 50% acrylic. 12wt, 383yds on a large spool. This thread can be used for hand applique, machine applique (as long as you have a needle that will accommodate the thread size) and cross stitch. The thread is about the same size as a single thread from a skein of floss but much easier to use as it doesn't require separating and can be use on the sewing machine (do not use as a bobbin thread).
Cross stitch and hand embroidery: Ideal for cross stitching with a single strand. Adds texture and depth. Also lovely for traditional hand embroidery stitches using a single or double strand. Adds a homespun touch.
Hand applique: Lovely results for blanket stitched applique' on wool fabrics, using a single or double strand. Perfect for creating a primitive look.
Longarm quilting: Suitable for bobbin work. Mark the quilt with water soluble or monofilament invisible thread. Turn the quilt and use Lana in the bobbin for beautiful thread art. Use the largest needle your machine can hold.
Machine applique: Creates decorative stitching similar to crazy patchwork. Use 50wt in the bobbin.
Machine quilting: Suitable for quilting wool fabrics. Use a 90/14 topstitch needle.
Serging: Use in the lower looper
*I do my best to take accurate pictures to showcase the exact color of the thread. However, differences in individual screens and personal settings can change your perception of the color*
