This is a lovely useable length of antique French rustic linen Chanvre fabric.
Made on a narrow loom the two long sides are the selvage edges and the bottom and top edge have neat hand stitched hems.
A scrumptious piece of cloth which is a lovely natural oatmeal colour with a neat hand stitched monogram A M in red cross stitch in one corner. The fabric looks whiter in the last four photos than it actually is.
The fabric has a nice thickness and weight and would be ideal for a country home upholstery project or for cushions, curtains drapes.
There is a mark which I have shown in the photos. The mark is 53 cm up from the bottom hem (i.e. not the end where the monogram is). I have laundered the cloth to freshen it up but have not tried to remove the mark.
