This beautiful teak yarn bowl allows yarn to flow smoothly while working on your knitting or crochet project. When not in use this bowl will double as a stunning decoration to hold your yarn. This bowl is brand new.
I opened my shop last year and having a great time acquiring and repurposing these bowls. In the coming weeks I will add more wooden yarn bowls as I complete them. In the past I have made yarn bowls out of Teak, Rosewood, Tigerwood, Monkey Pod, Black Walnut, Maple, Oak, Olive Wood, Mango, Cherry, Elm, Cedar Root, Acacia, California Cypress, Beechwood, Box Elder, Honey Locust, and Shan Mu Root. I do not turn the bowls myself. I use both new and slightly used bowls I find from a variety of sources and only bowls measuring a minimum of 7 inches in diameter.
All of my bowl alterations are handmade using no power tools except a drill. I use a jewelers saw to cut the design and then hand sand them until the curves are soft and the wood is smooth. Included with each bowl is a small cake of beeswax to rub around each hole to ensure your yarns flows smoothly and felt dots for the bottom of the bowl.
