If you enjoy sewing why not try making your own Lilly*Blossom Bow cushion cover using two coordinated fabrics and my easy to follow, fully illustrated sewing guide.
This cushion cover has the opening at the front, tied with a bow and shows just a hint of the lining panel underneath. You can adjust how much of the lining shows through by how tight you fasten the bow. There are no difficult zips to insert.
The 10 page sewing guide is suitable for anyone who has basic experience of using a sewing machine to stitch straight and zigzag seams. It is written in clear, simple to follow text with lots of close up photographs to help you every step of the way.
You will need to make a paper template (pattern pieces) using four rectangular shapes paper. Tip: I use a roll of spare wallpaper or lining paper for my templates as it's long lasting and much less expensive than buying large sheets of card or taping paper together.
All measurements are given in centimetres and inches to suit all buyers and sizings are included for both a 40 & 45cms pad (16 & 18").
This design uses two coordinated fabrics, one for the main cover and a contrasting one for the lining panel and ties. Try out different combinations from your fabric collection, every time you will have a new and original cushion cover.
Materials needed to make one 40cms (16”) or 45cms (18”) cushion (pillow) cover:
• Approximately 50cms (½yd) of 135cm (54”) wide furnishing fabric in for the main cover. • Approximately 50cms (½yd) of 50cms (20”) wide contrast cotton for the ties & lining panel. • Matching thread.
You will also need some basic sewing equipment such as pins, scissors, tape measure, iron, fabric marker or tailors chalk.
