Item details

One of a kind hand turned signed and numbered,184, top whorl drop spindle. Used for hand spinning yarn.
Trunk size.
Shaft Sycamore wood ~ 9" x 3/8"
Whorl Quilted Maple wood ~ 2 3/4" x 3/4"
Hook custom bent, hammered, and polished copper wire.
Weight 1.93 oz. 55g

Fully designed and created by myself, Cynthia D. Haney. Under the whorl it is marked with my signature initials, the number, weight, and date finished (7/2017). I carve a notch on the whorl's side to guide the yarn towards the hook. Test spun also by myself it is good for making a thicker yarn or plying. The finish is varnish and requires no oiling or waxing.

Included is my "Introduction to Spindle Spinning" pamphlet complete with color pictures.
