This is what I believe to be a vintage cheese box to which vintage sewing notions have been added. It measures approximately 10 1/2" in diameter.
The box is definitely old and the cardboard dividers inside remind me of a cheese box. This was found in Holmes County, Ohio, so it makes sense that it is. Someone scratched off where it was made, but I am thinking it was either in Japan or Mexico. There is some damage on one edge of the box (photo 10), but the box is such a pretty mustard color with faint reddish toned flowers that the damage doesn't take away from its beauty. That is, if you like vintage things.
The box is full of mostly vintage sewing notions. The longest lace does not look vintage even though it is nice, but the other ones are vintage. The thimbles are not good thimbles. The three sliver colored ones say "Taiwan" and the gold colored one has no mark. The 4 yo-yos are out of brown and white old material. There is an old plain paper needle holder w/2 needles and the spools of thread are old.
This box is just an interesting item to set somewhere in one's sewing room.
I am in love😍. I was so excited to open this. The pictures are great but soooo much better in person. The cheese box is quite pretty. Very unique to decide to put sewing notions in there....and it's packed! I'm going to leave it just the way it is and display it in my craft room. Thank you for the always fast and thoughtful shipping😊
