Item details

This gorgeous art deco rangefinder camera was produced
by Argus from 1939 to 1950.
There are subtle variations of this body style beginning
in 1936 until 1951. It features a telescoping lens,
shutter speeds of T to 200 and f-stops from
4.5 to 18. To release the lens, gently twist and
pull outward. Reverse this sequence to close it.

This one is in very good condition.
The brushed bakelite body is pristine with
a textured surface resembling fine embroidery.
The smooth bakelite top and bottom surfaces
show light abrasions.
The aluminum back shows abrasions and scratches.
At the time of it's production, aluminum was a very expensive

The shutter and film advance work,
However the B and T settings don't work.

The case is in very good structural condition.
The front of the case is darkened, as are areas on the back.
The case has been repaired with a wing nut, rather than
a rivet. There are creases on the flaps.
