large piece vintage fabric // 240 inches by 184 inches // rusty brown solid // rayon type non wrinkle non stretch // mid century fabric // some holes
This listing is for a large piece of solid color rusty brown fabric. It seems like it's from the mid century modern era to me - around 1950s through the 70s, but I don't know for sure. It feels like a soft rayon cotton blend. It's not an exterior weather-resistant fabric - definitely for indoors. It would make really nice skirts, blouses, or dresses.
This piece of fabric measures about 240 inches by 184 inches, and weighs over 3.5 pounds. The fabric is really long - shown draped over two club chairs and then across a train trunk.
This large piece of fabric has some holes here and there. I circled the rips with green circles so you can see where they are. 99% of the rips occur within the first 4 feet (my estimate), and then there are many feet of fabric that are almost perfect. However, there are 2 other tiny holes (I took a photo of one to show you) down near the other end; I couldn't find more than those 2 additional tiny holes.
I think the fabric would be called rayon, or something like rayon? It's definitely synthetic, and possibly a synthetic-cotton blend. It doesn't have stretch to it, but it also doesn't wrinkle easily and is very flowy and drapey.
