One short story among many: We packed and shipped a framed photograph for a client. Her first comment was how much her father loved the gift. The second comment was that he said the packing was so amazing that he could have played touch football with the package and it would have been fine. Yes, he's that good.
We will endeavor to always be as fair as possible in determining rates. We try to keep shipping costs to a minimum, but we are not skimping on time or materials. Our shipping costs are a reflection of the balance we're attempting to achieve.

Additional return information
We do everything possible to describe each item as carefully as possible and provide images to show things in great detail. Our policy has always been to sell "as is", but including full details as to any condition problems. Since grading systems for condition on vintage and antique items are so subjective, it feels too difficult to do otherwise. The prices are always based on that idea; if it were completely perfect, it might be considerably more costly. I am always happy to answer any questions via convos.
And, please know, that we are very fair. If there is a problem of any sort, please send a convo and we will respond as soon as possible. Our aim is to be responsible and reliable. If there is an issue, and we are made aware, we can make arrangements on a case-by-case basis to do what's fair and what's best for both you and our shop. We are a tiny mom and pop business, not a corporation with unlimited resources. We're all on this delightful platform together.

One more thing: Since the latest round of post office increases (We LOVE the USPS and use it exclusively!), we have found that the shipping quotes on our items to the West Coast and Hawaii and Alaska (from Brooklyn, NY) have been too low and we have been losing on virtually every mailing. To redo all of the quotes on our listings would be a very difficult thing to do, so we are leaving the quotes as they are. But occasionally, we may have to alert a buyer in those areas that we might need to add some additional shipping cost. Of course, we would notify if that is the case and it would be up to the buyer to accept or not. I'm not comfortable with this outcome, but losing on each purchase is too much for such a small family business. We hope that you understand.
