In the mid 1960's Mamiya, famous for their very nice medium format cameras, introduced it's TL/DTL line of 35mm SLR cameras, this being one of those. With a very high quality build, excellent standard lenses, and ingenuous stop down metering functionality, these sold in droves and are still capable today. Using the ubiquitous M42 lens mount system there is a huge number fantastic and inexpensive lenses available for this camera which make these wonderful to use and overall better (if not similar) shooters to the famous Pentax Spotmatic.
This is the 100DTL model, which is the top of the line camera in this family of DL/DTL bodies by Mamiya. Overall this is a handsome camera that show's it's age with a bit of patina and some very minor yellowing of the surface coating on the metal parts of the body. These models have the excellent dual light meter (the "D" in DTL) which allows for both spot and average metering at the flick of a switch.
***Sadly the light meter on this example does not work. However good news is that this camera is still fully functional without it and any host of free light meter apps for your phone will work great and likely be more accurate than the original one in the camera anyways.*** The shutter is heavy, solid, and accurate as is the rest of the mechanics of this tank of a camera.
The lens that comes with it is a classic standard lens, a Mamiya/Sekor 50mm f/2 prime. This lens is clean, clear, and works well to get some great images. There is a spot of damage on the end at the filter ring, so threading a filter on the end of the lens won't happen, but it otherwise is a great lens and this doesn't effect the images or use of the lens at all. Included is the original strap and all told this would be a great add to a collection or best of all a sweet user that can truly be used to get some really good photos, just add film and go!
