This ribbon is great. I can’t decide if I am more excited about it being used as vintage decor or just using the ribbon for a project. No reason you can't do both. This type of thick sturdy ribbon is still available today but not at this price. The water repellent .5” wide ribbon is indestructible. It would be great for outdoor needs or creations you want to last for a long time. I was able to date this back to the late 50’s/60’s based on the information on the package and the other spools I got with it. It would be a neat addition to any vintage decor.
I am not sure who the original maker was of this product. It was bought wholesale with the intention of using and selling it by the yard retail in a floral shop in the suburbs of Chicago, Il. The acetate ribbon is 200 count, has a cut edge, water resistant, and was made in the USA.
The pink ribbon is .5 inches wide. The spool identifies there were 100 yards. I did not unravel the entire amount and measure. The ribbon roll goes about a fourth to a third of the cardboard lip of the spool. As you can see from the pictures there is still a generous amount of ribbon to be used. I was going to measure it all but I stopped counting after 11 yards. There was still a fair amount of ribbon on the spool and it was becoming quite a process. So I stopped measuring. :-) I think 20 to 25 yards is a fair guess. I make no guarantees about the exact amount.
The color is not specifically identified on the label. It is a vibrant pink color that reminds me of roses. It has a bit of a bright sheen to it on one side.
I have several more spools of vintage ribbon like this in various colors. If you are looking for something specific message me for more information
Slight color variations may occur due to not all computer monitors and phone resolutions are made equal.
