25 Border Printing Design rollers, Spools, 2 Applicator Tools. French Antique Circa 1900 - 1910
Please use the more button for further information.
These were originally used by commercial embroidery premises who took commissions for monogramming and embroidering linens. The design would have been rolled onto the edge of sheets and other linens and then embroidered over.
Please note,............................ a couple of the spools are a little worn and one would need to fill in the worn areas.
The rubber printing pattern is mounted on the interchangeable wooden wooden spools. The spools vary slightly in diam but are roughly 1 inch.
There are 25 interchangeable spools with 2 applicator tools, probably all the spools a girl would need. I think the spools are all different designs.
most fit on the small tool but only the large spool fits the large tool. Both tools runs smoothly. The ink pads are missing or dried out new felt can be stuck on if needed and the large one has had a replacement pin put through its ink pad part. .
Run the roller over an ink pad and roll onto the fabric.
The beauty of this lot is the amount of different spools,
I HAVE OTHER LOTS LISTED.
For an example of how these are used look at the neckline and sleeve edges of some of my antique nightdresses.
