Phoenix Kyanite is a color shifting nail polish, consisting of a translucent medium blue base with shimmer that shifts from red to gold to green, and flashes vivid red and bright green at the extremes of its color range. There is likely to be some degree of visible nail line at three coats - how much will vary from person to person. I don't have very opaque free edges, and three coats is enough for me to have no visible nail line in person, but for someone with more distinct and opaque free edges (like Erika!), the nail line will still be visible in person at three coats. Phoenix Kyanite is part of the Mythological Gems collection. Mythological Gems is a series within the Mythological line, and will offer all four different colors of Mythological pigment in the same base color.
The Kyanite base in Phoenix Kyanite, Dragon Kyanite, Unicorn Kyanite, and Kelpie Kyanite is named after kyanite, a stone that occurs most frequently in shades of blue. The base for Kyanite is a tweaked version of the base originally developed for Autumn Air, a custom polish created with Phoenix pigment. The customer who commissioned Autumn Air kindly gave permission to add the color to the Starlight Polish line! Phoenix Kyanite is an altered version Autumn Air, and differs from Autumn Air in two ways - first, in the alteration of base color recipe, which has been reformulated due to a change in colorant suppliers, and to slightly increase the strength of the base color, and second, in that the original Autumn Air custom had a higher quantity of Phoenix pigment, which has not been replicated in Phoenix Kyanite for price reasons.

This polish contains "unicorn pee" pigment. The red to green color shifting pigment in the Phoenix polishes is the same kind of pigment that's in the original elusive unicorn pee polishes (Clarins 230, Liquid Euphoria Bliss, etc).
Phoenix Kyanite is a custom polish, made from scratch with nail lacquer base, pigments, and color shifting pigment. Starlight Polish is 5 free, meaning free of DBP, toluene, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, and camphor, and contains no carmine or other animal-derived pigments.

In my swatch of this polish the UP is very apparent and I only needed one coat over a blue base for that shimmer to pop!
