Square Kaleidoscope Polymer Clay Cane, raw, hand made, unbaked cane

This listing is for a raw, unbaked, square polymer clay cane, made using FIMO Soft Polymer Clay, which is ready for cutting and curing.

The cane has been hand made by me, using my own designs. The pattern runs through the length of the cane. Cut thin slices from the cane and place them next to each other to create a kaleidoscope pattern.

The large square veneer of clay in the photographs is not included in this listing or the price, and is shown simply to illustrate the possible patterns you can make with this square cane.

Bake your clay following the manufacturer's specifications.

Cane Length - 2 in / 5 cm
Each side of the square face of the cane measures approximately - 0.65 in / 1.6 cm

Each cane is carefully packed in deli wrap, and then boxed for shipping.

If you have any questions or requests, please email me.

FAQs

Yes to both question. The Polymer Clay canes, once warmed, as per the instructions they arrive to you with, can be fitted around blank pen barrels. Once baked, according to the Manufacturer's instructions, They can either be sanded and polished, or, if you are an experienced Lathe user, turned on a lathe. Here is a useful video to watch by one of my customers, using the canes for the first time, to turn a pen barrel coated in Polymer Clay and Resin. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oBV1n3B_uOc&feature=youtu.be If you have any questions, or would like any advice, please ask me, I am happy to help.

Polymer Clay is a man made sculpting medium that remains pliable until it is baked. It can be baked in a normal oven as it cooks at a low temperature. It is one of the few mediums where you can create a complex pattern in a ‘cane’ and reduce this to a very small size while maintaining the integrity of the pattern.

I try to ensure that all my tutorials, unless I express otherwise, are suitable for beginners upwards. I include in one of the PDF Downloads tips and instructions for beginners on the basics of working with Polymer Clay. I hope that these will be sufficient to tell you all you need to know, but suggest that you contact me if you need to know anything else specific to the tutorial you have purchased.

I have various tutorials you can view online to show how the pattern gets within the clay. Here are a couple that you may enjoy watching: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jkBt9yYT_ZA&feature=youtu.behttps://youtu.be/FWq2tZFHoxU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_7oT6tzDnw&t=88s

There are many used for unbaked canes. Normally, after warming them gently with body heat for a bout 20 minutes, people take thin slices from the cane to lay together to form patterns. I have a video showing you what to do with your canes here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPUdhRwzy04&t=5s. If you have any other questions about this, so send me a conversation.
