I have been knitting for years and am always looking for new projects to make my loved ones. So many of my friends and family are starting to have babies and I absolutely LOVE forest themes. This raccoon hat has been a labor of love as I have not been able to find a pattern that I was satisfied with, I decided to set off and make my own. This pattern is a little more complicated than your average hat and involves both knitting in the round as well as intarsia knitting in order to get seamless color changes without having to cut and tie the yarn multiple times.
As intarsia knitting was something that I struggled very much with learning on my own, I took a lot of time in developing this pattern to describe what I was doing. I also took multiple pictures to try to help along the way. I hope that you love this little hat as much as I do!
Just a note, I ran out of the color of yarn I wanted to use for the light gray in the pictured hat. I have also included an image of a previous trial hat showing the ideal color scheme!
Please let me know if anything in the pattern is wrong or if there is something you need help with!
As with all patterns, I do not mind if you sell the finished product of the hat, but please, do not share or sell the actual knitting pattern. Thank you!
