Offered here is a lovely, old 8 ½" x 10 ½" x 2 ½" Victorian Album for holding Cabinet Cards, Tintypes and/or CDVs (carte des visite). It would be a good candidate for restoration, with a lovely celluloid cover and a complete, decorative metal closure.
Its twelve (12) empty pages are edged in gold, and are attached to the binding. They will accommodate 20 cabinet cards and 16 cdvs/tintype photographs. The thick pages are original, and both sides of each page for the cabinet cards have pansies as decoration. Be aware: The pages are in poor condition, with torn and missing areas and some with water staining.
Both covers are attached the spine. The top cover is made of celluloid, and has minimal wear considering its age. The spine and back cover is a velvety fabric in shades of green. The fabric is original, but is in very worn condition.
On the celluloid front cover, there is an image of a romantic couple.
The spring~loaded clasp is intact, and holds the album securely. For its age, this is an album in fairly good vintage condition, and would be perfect for displaying old family photographs after restoration.
