A whale will captivate our hearts like no other creature can. If you’re ever fortunate enough to happen upon these gentle giants you’ll find it impossible to look away. Their world is one we will never know and one that we need to protect. With that in mind Walter is taking no chances! Before dipping his flippers in the salty deep he’s popped on his high visibility life jacket. It’s always better to be safe than sorry in this life.
This listing is for a PDF pattern to make Walter the Whale and his life jacket. Upon purchase a file will be delivered to you as an email including written instructions and full sized pattern templates. I am an Australian designer so all measurements are given using centimeters. Pattern sheets print to standard A4 sized paper. The finished whale is approx 40cm from the tip of his nose (even though whales don't actually have noses!) to tail. There are a few hand stitches involved in his creation such as ladder stitch, running stitch, back stitch and French knots. All are easily mastered and handy little stitches to have in your repertoire.
Walter is made using toy safety eyes and a small bow tie slider to fasten his belt hence full supervision should be given to children to whom small parts may pose a choking hazard while they play with Walter.
I go to every length to provide detailed and easily understood written instructions. Walter will be a satisfying addition to a seasoned toy makers repertoire or a happy challenge to those just dipping their toes in the world of toy making. If you do find you need a little help with Walter as you're sewing him together we can chat using Etsy Conversations or you can email me jenny [!at] frazzydazzles.com and I'll do my best to answer any of your questions.
While I'm happy for you as the purchaser to make Walter and sell your work on a small scale such through a market I do ask that all labeling and marketing material identify myself and or Frazzy Dazzles as the original designer. The copying of and or re-selling/re-distribution of this pattern either in paper or digital form just isn't very nice...
Thank you for looking at my gentle giant. If you like my designs you might like to follow my Frazzy Dazzles page of Facebook and Instagram. That's where I share all new and emerging designs first.
Another fun pattern from this designer.
