This is a hand forged crooked awl made from american file steel. Hand Forged by Carl Millison at ( primitivehunter.net )One end is a round point for punching holes in leather or canvas. The other end is a square point for drilling holes in green or soft wood. You can drill hardwood but it takes a bit more time. It comes with a hardwood handle that will fit either end of the awl. All together the hole thing is just under 5 inches and is a very nice addition to your carving or outdoor kit.
