PLEASE NOTE, These are over 100 years old so they are a little tatty and priced accordingly. Please see the pictures.
These are a mixture of Art Nouveau and Art Deco style of the day can clearly be seen in the beautiful patterns offered. Various publications which were all monthly journals for professional embroiderer who set up shops to take in work embroidering monograms on dowry linen.
Most fashionable homes in France prior to the early 1970's would not dream of using linen on the bed without it being monogrammed. Shops would have huge amounts of these magazines for the clientele to choose their preferred design from.
If you do decide you would like to try your hand at monogramming your own items the French use a style they call rembourre. To do this they tack piping cord over the initial transfer then go over it with neat satin stitch. I would suggest photocopying your choice and use the copy, therefore saving your original.
These 4 magazine takes the form of a one large piece of paper folded some of the folds on these are split.
They are dated 1930, 1931 and 2 x 1932. They are originals not copies.
