Dancing dots III - lampwork glass beads handmade by Rebecca Weddell
A collection of three 'dancing dot' beads with a huge amount of character, not to mention a plethora of gorgeously-tactile raised dots to attract the attention! These three one-of-a-kind artisan lampwork glass beads in shades of warm periwinkle blue, transparent green and two shades of purple will add stunning appeal to any of your jewellery or craft projects.
All three beads were wound in the torch flame out of opaque periwinkle blue glass, and each bead has its own unique colour combination of raised dots. The stunning opaque violet dots on two of the beads are slightly iridescent, which adds to their light-catching ability.
The 'dancing dots' demand attention and pick up the light, and being so tactile and textured the beads are lovely to handle. Absolutely delightful and totally unique.
The beads were made on 1.6mm mandrels. The largest bead in the collection measures 16.5mm in diameter and 12.5mm from hole to hole. The smallest bead in the collection measures 15.5mm in diameter x 12.5mm from hole to hole. Measurements are approximate, and include the raised dots. The beads have been kiln-annealed for lasting strength.
Each bead is unique, having been made one by one at the torch flame in my hot-glass workshop in rural East Sussex. To find out more about the captivating craft of lampwork glass beadmaking, visit www.letfireinspire.co.uk
