Handspun fine 100% Shetland, undyed natural white.
This is as fine a yarn as I spin. It takes ages but I like to keep spinning this sort of yarn for my shop because it's used for Norwegian and Shetland colourwork knitting (intarsia), which I like to promote.
In one of the pics you will see I'm getting 12 wraps per inch. You could knit this on 2.5-3.5mm needles.
The British grown Shetland fibre I used to spin this yarn has been left undyed in it's natural ivory white colour. It's a firm but soft Shetland. The yarn is as even as it's possible to get a hand spun yarn and is suitable for hats, mittens, sockes, or other knitting, crochet projects.
If you are wanting to do a truly authentic Shetland piece, this is a great yarn to have in your stash to pick out the centre of Shetland designs. You may not need that much of it as often the designs call for many colours. Alternatively this would knit up really well into Norwegian style mittens or fingerless gloves, or a fisherman's kep. There are many uses.
Average yardage per skein approx. 58 yards (this varies slightly skein to skein) Wraps per inch: 12 Needle size: 2.5-3.5mm Dye: undyed Fibre: British grown white Shetland
Hand wash your finished project, dry it flat.
