Item details

The Pentax K1000 (originally marked the Asahi Pentax K1000) is an interchangeable lens, 35 mm film, single-lens reflex (SLR) camera, manufactured by Asahi Optical Co., Ltd. from 1976 to 1997. The K1000's extraordinary longevity makes it a historically significant camera. “The Pentax K1000 is one of photography's greatest, most popular and longest-lived cameras,” states Ken Rockwell. “The Pentax K1000 is simple. It does exactly what it needs to do.” This simplicity is a great virtue and earned it unrivaled popularity as a basic but sturdy workhorse.

The K1000 is an almost-all metal, mechanically controlled, manual-focus SLR with manual-exposure control. It is completely operable without batteries, however, batteries (included with the purchase) are required for the light metering information system.

The camera is in excellent condition and includes the SMC Pentax-M 50 mm f/2 lens (a very high quality lens manufactured between 1979 and 1985 ). The light seals have been replaced (some aspects of the seals were inspected and not in need of being replaced), and as mentioned, new batteries are included!
