We wish you could feel this natural, undyed roving from our ewe's fall 2017 shearing. This dense fiber is perfect for hand spinning and felting. It is lustrous and long stapled. Icelandic fiber is lightweight, water repellent and breathable. It has a strong tensile strength and an average micron count of 34-36.
We are currently offering three different colors - black, white and grey. Look closely at the pictures, as you will see beautiful variations in each color. We have photographed in natural and artificial light utilizing different backgrounds in order to give you a true picture of this fiber. We are selling this roving by the ounce and will ship it to you using USPS flat rate priority packaging (size as appropriate for your order).
Our farm is located in Montana, where we provide quality, balanced feed to our flock of happy sheep - this shows in their fiber. Icelandic sheep are a dual-coated breed and display much variety in pattern and color. We have brown, white, grey and black sheep (and everything in between). We use Mountain Meadow Wool mill in Buffalo, WY to process our fiber, and their professionalism and pride shows in our product. www.mountainmeadowwool.com
