This is one piece of Fabric by S.M. Hexter, designer, most popular for wallpapers.Curtain or upholstery fabricUnwashed The fabric measures 26 x 42 inches not counting the selvage. It is serged on three edges. This was a large sample item to show customers. It has a sort of shell design in shades of pinks and mauves. It has an older smell to it but is not pungent or intolerable.I lightly steamed it with a mixture of water and vodka just to freshen it up a bit. There are no visible stains or tears in the work however the serged thread in a small area is coming away from the fabric. See photoIt is in good vintage condition for it's age, 1978It is from an 84 year estate in Covington, Kentucky belonging to a seamstress who spent her time working with linens and fabrics from what appeared to be the 1930s through the 1980s. There was no indication of any tobacco use in the home as it does not have that smell nor did any other item in the home. Please see my other listing for more fabric and linens from this estate.
