You've all noticed that paper trophies are very fashionable these days. On Etsy alone, there must be about a hundred models for sale. Unicorn head, cow's head, cat couple, gorilla head, it looks like all the contents of Noah's ark are gone! To be honest with you, I hate these paper trophies. Five years ago I thought it was cool to have a deer's head in lowpoly over my chimney. But today it's completely cheesy, the trophies to be installed in a child's bedroom still pass, but a unicorn's head in your living room, are you serious?
I spend a lot of time building paper sculptures, and I recently decided to break the codes and get rid of the cat, dog, cow, horse and so on.
One of the best French sculptors of the moment has made his speciality of the representation of wild animals in a very bright red, his works are world famous, it must tell you something, right?
I love his accomplishments!
I love them so much that I dreamt (for a very short time) to acquire them. As you can imagine, it's not exactly within my budget. I don't expect, but then not at all, to have to write a 5-digit cheque to get one of his works. So for the purchase of one of his works it was done, I have absolutely not the means.
On the other hand, I have time, patience and a bit of cunning.
The rest of the story you can easily imagine, I think.
A few days later I started to model a first wild animal in order to make a paper scale model. The result was very conclusive and made a big impression on my friends who quickly asked me where I had bought this work. I was so proud to tell them that I was the builder that they immediately asked me to make another version for their house. I was delighted, but quickly overwhelmed by this sudden success, I had to find a solution. I couldn't send them on the roses, though. So I started to make a tutorial with explanatory sheets and sheets containing the ready to print parts. Most of my friends were perfectly novice in papercraft or more generally in DIY. I have therefore detailed in my explanatory sheet the whole method so that novices can quickly enjoy building my paper tiger. It's a pleasure to say, you will have some! If you have already experienced this type of papercraft, you know how the notion of time escapes you during this type of construction. It is almost a therapy, but with the result that a work of art will make a big impression in your home.
I won't hold your attention any longer to explain how great and accessible my construction guide is, I think it's best to take action and make up your own mind.
If you're a beginner or experienced papercrafter, I hope you'll enjoy building it as much as I did and maybe you'll discover a real passion for it.
Shazam!!! Way freakin Cool Tiger paper craft!!! Love your stuff, keep making more. I full body tiger lounging would be cool too!!! For like on top of a bookcase with a paw dropping over the edge? I'm also looking for a cool puffin to go with a polar bear I got, just a thought.
