This listing is for 5 stamping blanks, in the shape of a mountain range, made to order.
These blanks are 18 gauge aluminum, and measure 7/8" tall and 1" wide. You choose the metal - aluminum, copper, jeweler's brass, or pewter. (Pricing varies, based on metal choice and finishing options.)
You choose the metal: shiny aluminum, copper, jeweler's brass, or pewter. All of the metals that I carry have been carefully selected for their beautiful finishes and ease to work with. These metals are my personal favorites for stamping and other creative work! (Please see the last photo for examples of metal options.)
*My aluminum has a beautiful mirror finish on the front, with a protective coating which you will need to peel off before stamping. Due to the nature of the finish on this aluminum, I recommend that they NOT be tumbled.
*The copper is beautiful, and is my favorite choice! It polishes up beautifully, and takes chemical treatments like a dream.
*Jeweler's brass (also known as nugold or red brass) has a richer color than common yellow brass. Due to the higher copper content and lower zinc content, this jeweler's brass also solders wonderfully and has a softer strike, with less bounce than yellow brass.
*Pewter has a nice, heavy, rich feel and sheen. Its relatively low cost makes it a great alternative to sterling, when you're creating a budget friendly piece with a high-end feel.
I cut each of these blanks myself, using a combination of a hydraulic press and punch, and a jeweler's hand saw. Due to the handmade nature of these pieces, slight variances may occur from blank to blank. This process also leaves a bur on the back side of the raw blanks, which can be sanded or filed away. With this in mind, I'm happy to provide you with 2 finishing options!
See how I make them here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-_pQZFK-MI
*The first finishing option is the least expensive and is for "raw" and unfinished blanks. You will need to remove the bur from the back side, any surface scratching which may have inadvertently occurred during transit, and any possible tarnishing that may have taken place while the metal has been stored before cutting.
*Should you select deburred blanks, I will remove the burs by hand, through sanding. This will cause a slight sanded texture around the edges on the back of the piece, but no sharp edges will remain.
*When selecting the tumbled option, I will remove the burs from the back of the piece, then wet tumble your blanks until they are beautifully shined. (Please note, I do NOT offer a tumbling option for aluminum blanks, as I want to preserve the plastic coating and the mirror finished front.)
Because I make each blank by hand, upon payment for your order, please allow 3-5 business days for processing and shipment, and additional time for USPS to deliver your blanks to you.
Please ask any questions before purchasing, as I do not currently offer returns, refunds, or exchanges.
