Item details

Strong and beautiful...

Brilliant tones of red, orange, purple, and rust; accented with a touch of blue green... combined with its graceful, curvy shape make this a strong, yet feminine piece!

My goal, when creating, is to create pieces with exquisite quality and colors that are not often found in fused dichroic glass... Pieces with maximum visual depth, clean (hand ground) shapes, and aesthetically exciting designs.

Design has been pieced with hand cut glass, and placed with tweezers to create design. It was topped with a clear glass cap to create a 'glass sandwich, before being kiln fired to 1470 degrees. After first firing, pendant is finely ground and shaped with diamond grinding bits; then, hand sanded to perfection, to bring out its finest detail and depth. It's the finite shaping that makes the difference between seeing some colors, and having them not materialize at all, and also reveals its great depth. Piece is fired a second time to polish after the grinding/shaping process. Kiln time for this process is a minimum of 8 hours firing time.

Pendant measures: 38mm x 52mm x 6mm
