"This is a very lovely button. It really uses the properties of polymer clay to great advantage. I can't wait to put it on one of my handspun handknits. And the seller was kind enough to send a personal note letting me know that the package was on its way-- it was like getting a gift from a friend." - a terrific review from a fan!
This is a double-layered shank button made of polymer clay whose surface reminds me a bit of bark on a tree in a strange but cool combination of acid yellow and brown. Each circle was made separately, hand sanded and buffed for all-smooth edges. The layers are cemented together, and an acrylic shank was affixed to the center of the back. Easily one of my favorite newer buttons. One of a kind, can't be reproduced or copied. The bottom layer is 1-1/4" diameter, and the top layer is 3/4" diameter. The button is 3/8" thick at the center.
As with all handmade buttons, care should be taken to preserve their usefulness and appearance. Avoid contact with abrasive surfaces or caustic chemicals. Remove before dry cleaning or hand-wash with mild soap. Do not scrub. Don't try to "test" it's strength by bending it...it will break under too much pressure...they are not ceramic or glass. For normal respectful usage, they will perform just fine.
Shipping is free in the US only, unless customer wants to expedite or add insurance.
If you live outside the USA and would like to purchase any items, please send me a private message so I can calculate your postage and set up a reserved listing for you. International customers are responsible for any/all customs fees associated with purchasing my work. If you don't know what your country charges, please research ahead of time. Once your package leaves the US, it is out of the hands of the USPS and packages cannot be tracked from my end without considerable added expense. I have not had any international packages get lost yet, but I just want buyers to be aware that I won't refund your money because of a long delay in delivery or lost packages overseas.
I am an avid re-user of packing materials.
Lost or damaged packages must be reported to the USPS, as all sales are final. My high-end work will come with insurance, but lower priced ones do not. If you are concerned about the safety or treatment of your package, please ask me to add insurance to postage and I will create a reserved listing for you.
I accept credit card payments through Paypal, Etsy Checkout and Etsy Gift Cards.
SALES: Sometimes I offer exclusive discounts with a coupon code and expiration date. They are always clearly posted in my shop name and announcement. It is the responsibility of the buyer to check out my main page to see if I am running a special. If a buyer finds out after buying an item at full price that there was a special, I will not refund the difference after the fact and the sale is still final.
