This handmade Thread/Scrap Caddy is a portable scrap catcher with an attached pincushion and scissors holder.
It can sit on the edge of your work surface or chair arm and comes in handy allowing you to keep your work area free from loose scraps of thread, fabric, paper, and other materials used while crafting.
Not only used in your home crafting area, it can also be taken along with your craft project anywhere (to classes, craft conventions, vacation, etc).
The exterior fabric is 100% cotton - Detroit Tigers print - navy and orange.
SPECIAL FEATURE: Laminated lining means threads slide out easily and wipes up clean. The interior LAMINATED lining is a coordinating 100% cotton fabric - orange print - that has been covered with a clear laminate surface allowing for easy clean-up. Threads literally slide out of the bag when emptied as opposed to other bags that have threads clinging to cotton fabric linings and getting stuck at the bottom of the bag.
There is plastic boning sewn into the rim to prevent it from collapsing.
The size of the bag with the pincushion is approx. 13" overall. The bag itself has a rounded top opening measuring approx. 5.5" in diameter and is approx. 7" deep with a rectangular flat bottom.
The pincushion measures approx. 4.5" x 3.5" and is weighted down with polyester fiberfill along with either fine craft sand or rice that is enclosed in a double lined pouch. Thus the scrap catcher will stay in place and will keep your pins and needles sharp. I never use nut products as filler, so crafters with nut allergies do not have to worry about the construction of my bags.
My name label sewn on the inside serves as a handy place to keep your scissors safe.
