Often such tools used in my woodworking, of 30 plus years. These Japanese hand planes are wonderful when well-tuned. They are also lovely to look at and collect. This plane was got from a retired woodworker in the countryside of Sado, Japan. The blade is shortened from long use, meaning that it is probably of decent quality. The block of this plane is of Japanese oak. It is longer than an average plane, thus making it a finishing plane. This antique plane is still usable, and in good condition. It comes with a backing, or chipper blade. It is a handsome example of an old Japanese finishing plane. Please see length dimension in included photos.
