Item details

The jewel tone colors of this pen really pop. I photographed them with both a light and dark background to hopefully give you an accurate view. The top is made of birch that has been dyed purple and gray and laminated together. The center rings are made of figured maple with grain lines showing through. The center band is purpleheart. The tail is also dyed birch in an emerald color and the entire pen is coated in a smooth glossy shell for protection. The grip is a simple classic Tamblyn style that is thicker than the average pen for comfort as you practice or show off your swooshes.

The flange is made of hand formed brass, the most bendable and forgiving metal I have found, stamped with my maker's mark. It is permanently set with epoxy for stability and endurance. It comes ready to write with a Hiro 41 nib.

Length: 7.81"
Width at finger grip: 0.37"
Width at widest part of grip: 0.59"
Width of tail: 0.21"

Thank you for visiting my shop. Each pen is made with care and precision to become your favorite calligraphy tool.

FAQs

I am not currently taking any custom orders. Feel free to make suggestions of what you would like to see in my shop but if you have design or time restrictions, I'm not able to take them right now.

Never leave a wood pen to soak in water. Wipe it off with a damp cloth and dry it well. Also avoid using cleaning products with ammonia which can damage the finish of the pen. When you dip the pen in ink, only allow the nib to submerse in the ink and not the entire flange. If ink dries inside the flange, it can be hard to remove the nib. Keep your custom pen out of direct sunlight and treat it with care.
