Eight vintage Waterbury Button Co. Buttons with Anchor (non-military) and Caduceus. These were developed by the Waterbury Company for use on U.S. Public Health Service uniforms. these appear to be coat buttons from the Uniform of the PHSCC. The United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps (PHSCC) is the federal uniformed service of the United States Public Health Service (PHS) and is one of the seven uniformed services of the United States. Members of the PHSCC wear the same uniforms as the United States Navy with special corps insignia, and hold ranks equivalent to those of naval officers. The design of these buttons includes a Winged Caduceus, chain and Anchor. They were made by Waterbury Button Co. , and I think date to WW11. See pictures for condition details. There is slight rubbing and minor scratches to the finish. The buttons are steel with a silver plating The buttons have a soft silvery finish. The background behind the image may be a type of enamel paint that is a champagne color. All eight buttons are complete with Bodkins/cotter pins.
They buttons measure 7/8 inch in size and are in good vintage condition.
