How to Grow Melons Sow: indoors March to April in small pots, 1 cm deep in moist seed starting mix/ compost. Keep moist and maintain a temperature of approx. 15-20oC. Seedlings should appear in 7-14 days. Transplant to planters/ large pots or final garden position (under a cloche) when plants have 4+ true leaves or are large enough to handle safely.
