Item details

This is a great example for the craft of early home rug making. These old hook rug needles were advertised as "automatic" although the automation was the user.

There were different size needles, and this is a No. 3. made by Wonderart out of Chicago. The "simple" directions for hook rug making are on the back of the box and the recommended yarn is indicated on it as well. It measures approximately 9" x 3".

Condition: The metal needle has some surface wear and light rust. The original box is missing one end, has age related wear and discoloration and a name along with the word paid in pencil.

This would make a great collectible display piece or for the crafter who wants to give making hook rugs a try.
