Calling the design obsessed! (You know who you are.) Check out the exquisite design of this sophisticated designer dress. Not only does this design include unique scalloped shaping and luxurious topstitching, but it also has pockets.
This would be a luxurious designer look for the workplace or a special occasion, depending upon one's fabric choice. In a versatile navy or burgundy, this would look perfect for work. In pastel shades, a print, or other vibrant colors, it would be beautiful for a Mother's Day brunch, a graduation celebration, a religious gathering, cocktails, a date or an evening out with friends. This could be your upscale choice for all occasions.
From the pattern envelope: "Miss Petite and Misses' Dress. Fitted, mid-knee length, A-line dress has jewel neckline, short or full length bias raglan sleeves with front and back scallops, side front pleats, scalloped pockets and topstitch trim. Purchased belts."
Suggested fabrics: Soft or crisp fabrics such as crepe, linen, pique, knits, brocade, light and medium weight wool, velveteen, silk blends and wool blends.
size 12 Bust 34" Waist 26.5" Hip 36" If this is not your size, but you are interested in customizing the fit of this design, please see Threads magazine's helpful article describing the process in detail: http://www.threadsmagazine.com/item/4424/quick-reference-for-cut-and-spread-pattern-grading (by Terry Horlamus, from Threads #101, pp. 66-70).
There are 9 total pattern pieces.
Condition: Fair. Though Ms. Belleville's mini-biography remains visible on the envelope flap, the edge of the envelope flap appears to have been cut off with scissors. The pattern's price has been discounted to take this inexplicable flap cutting into account (without this flaw, the value would be closer to $55). Some wear, tear, wrinkling and yellowing, commensurate with pattern age. Pattern pieces appear to have been cut. Please see all photos.
This item is an original vintage sewing pattern. I am not an expert pattern dater, but this pattern is believed to be from 1972. This vintage sewing pattern does not include a finished garment, notions, fabric or a fabric label.
