This listing is for unnatural and untreated spiderweb turquoise from the famous number eight mine in Nevada. I purchased these stones from my lapidary in San Francisco in 1974 /75. This mine was closed in 1976. I purchased several parcels of this material at that time and was using these turquoises in a line of sterling silver jewelry.
This is very unique and rare material and is very collectible. All of the stones are backed and in some cases I have added Black Jade backing to give height to the stone and improve the overall look of the gem when in a setting.
This is a pair of long oval turquoises. The measurements of these stones is 17 mm hi 6 mm by 3 mm deep one of the stones is 15 mm Long. The total weight of these two stones is 5 carats. The stones are both backed. This pair of number eight turquoise's are not a perfect match but certainly close enough to be combined as a set for earrings. Because of their long oval shape they are rather unique and will be perfect as earrings. These are nice little stones and they are very lightweight. which will make them comfortable for the wearer when they're set in silver or gold
