Here is a nice vintage X-Acto Knife model #5, circa 1960's, most likely.
This knife features the large red colored knurled plastic hand grip that is commonly associated with the basic X-Acto experience.
If you look closely at the collet base you will see the X-Acto logo written in script. This was the logo that was in use during the late 50's through the early 70's and which was replaced by a much more sleek stylized font that is still in use today with little modification.
Also, the actual color of the plastic handle is more of a burgundy which was the standard during that time. It has morphed into a brighter more true red during the last several decades.
As you can see in the photos the current blade in use is rusty and I will change that out with new a blade of your choice from my knife drawer if you wish.
The collet works smoothly and hold firmly.
About 6" in length and weighs 1.4 ounces.
