Extremely long suri llama locks in light to medium ash brown. There are a couple of streaks of cream. The listed price is for 2 ounce of locks averaging 12-15 inches in length It is very rare to find locks at this length. Animals are usually sheared yearly, and if they are not sheared or only have the blanket (chest, back, sides) removed, neck fiber sometimes is left for two years. Although beautiful length can be achieved, one needs to appreciate the fact that the fiber is on an animal living in a barnyard setting during this time. Llamas in particular are vegetable matter magnets.
This fiber is washed but not combed. Individual locks have been aligned and most have been pulled open to allow the worst pieces of small hay fleck to drop out, but there is still VM (vegetable matter) present that will need cleaning. It is quite silky and lustrous, and you will have plenty to work with.
I believe this batch will be more than adequate for a voluptuous wig. If you are accustomed to working with suri alpaca or mohair, you may be used to ordering more fiber by weight. Llama is a medullated (hollow) fiber. As compared to suri alpaca, suri llama is lighter in weight. The photo with the fiber in a ziplock bag is a gallon bag.
Care instructions: You may have a special method you use to wash. I use shampoo that I would use on my own hair, just never agitate it and comb it gently.
Shipping overages are refunded through Paypal. If you are ordering from overseas and shipping looks very high to you, convo me and we can try to figure out what shipping to your country will cost and do a reserved listing with that adjustment. We do charge a small additional amount because of the additional expense of going farther to the main post office for international shipping.
