These packs consist of a minimum of 150g assorted yarns in a variety of weights and textures. It is a random mix which may include novelty yarns, acrylic, alpaca, cotton, bamboo, wool, silk, linen, ribbon, ladder, hand dyed, handspun etc. The pack you will receive will be the one in the photo. These larger packs have fewer textured yarns than my mini skein packs, so that they work well in the same project - the finer threads can be used double. I have wound the larger balls into centre pull cakes to reduce tangling - use these by pulling the thread up from the middle. The packs are not complete projects - more like inspiration kits. They are good for freeform knitting or for a variety of craft projects - toy making, card making, scrapbooking, mixed media and textile projects, embroidery, embellishment, tassels, i-cords, textured weaving etc. The last picture shows a green and blue pack that I knitted/crocheted up into a free form (scrumble) cushion front. I include this just to give one idea of how this pack could be used. The next to last picture shows a different cushion made from crocheted granny squares (dozens of free tutorials out there on the internet!) For this one you would need to add a plain background colour (the white in my picture) to bring the whole project together. Each of the blue squares works out at an average of 4.5 grams - so you have plenty here. I'm sure you have your own ideas - and I would love to see any pictures of the results!
