This set includes one papercut Argema besanti luna moth, and one Leaf Insect (Phyllium giganteum)! Both are exquisitely rare species - the besanti is the rarest Luna Moth type in the world, and the Phyllium giganteum is very rare in nature too!
These papercut Insects are the perfect decoration for your special project! The insects are an ideal addition to decorative hair-clips and fantasy headdresses, and they are also fantastic for decorating scrapbooks, walls, mirrors and more. They will keep you company wherever a lovely creature is needed!
This listing is for the two insects pictured in the first image - to purchase any of the other styles of moths, please check the other listings!
*Technical Details* The moths are printed double sided on 190gsm Archival Cotton Paper, and then expertly lasercut with a precise level of detail (you can see the individual little antennae, just like on a real moth.)
The Lasercutter uses a focused beam of light to cut through the paper. This creates one of the most precise cuts possible. However since it is burning through the material to create the cut, sometimes there will be slight burning visible near the edges of the print. I check each piece carefully to make sure it meets a high standard of excellence, but small burn marks and a smoky burnt paper aroma are a natural part of the process.
Your insect will ship to you flat and unfolded, so that it arrives to you as safely as possible. To assemble bring them to life, just gently use your fingers to curl the paper slightly into the shape you want.
While they are delicate, given that they are paper, they do stand up to some wear and tear. For headdresses, wearing them out to events, or decorating a table display or cake, they are a beautiful option. (When I wear them, they are good for 1-3 events depending on how rough I am on them.) The main danger is getting them wet, so if you use them on food or wear them in the rain their lives will be pretty short. If you use them to decorate your wall, or indoors as part of a paper project, they should last a long time!

If for some reason there is a delay in creating your moths, I will let you know right away! My shipping days are usually Tues & Fridays.
-US orders are mailed out via First-Class USPS with Delivery Confirmation, or with Priority USPS for larger orders.
-Non-US orders will be shipped via First Class Airmail unless you request a different shipping method. You are responsible for any customs charges, but I can mark items as a "Gift".

A note about Lasercut Items:
The Lasercutter uses a focused beam of light to cut through the paper. This creates one of the most precise cuts possible. However since it is burning through the material to create the cut, sometimes there will be slight burning visible near the edges of the print. I check each piece carefully to make sure it meets a high standard of excellence, but small burn marks and a smoky burnt paper aroma are a natural part of the process. I can't accept refunds for slight laser burn marks, or print variations as these are an inherent part of this manufacturing process.
Sometimes the lasercut pieces may have a slight smoky smell for a few days (especially right after they're removed from their packaging). This is from where the laser has burned them, I ship from a smoke-free home. But if you are extremely sensitive of allergic to smoke, lasercut items may not be right for you.
