An exquisite vintage Sanderson fabric curtain remnant which I think dates from the 1940s or 1950s.
This is a classic Sanderson fabric called ‘Roslyn’ which features a Jacobean arts and crafts style floral/ botanical design in lovely shades of dark teal, brown, orange and green against a taupe/ dark oatmeal background. You can just see SANDERSON FABRIC printed along the selvedge edge.
The curtain is made up of three panels and is fitted with its original curtain track. The hem has been delicately hand stitched and it is not lined.
The fabric is a mid weight linen union upholstery fabric. In excellent vintage condition for its age. The fabric is strong and the colours are incredibly vibrant. There are a few brown age spots at the hem and on the reverse side it appears to have some brown fade/ sun marks... but these cannot be seen on the fabric side. It would benefit from a clean before using to freshen it up as it smells a little from being stored.
I love this fabric! Everything about it is classic Sanderson...from the natural linen to the arts and crafts design and the beautiful colours. There is lots of fabric here perfect for any number of sewing projects!
