This listing is for a very unique and adorable vintage paper cutter.
-This piece is made by the Heco Company as seen at the top of the 6" wooden ruler that is nailed into the trimmer for measuring. It reads, "Heco Trimming Board No. 6" in a great old font.
-However, the trimmer also bears a label on the back referencing "Adams Stationers, 10th and Olive Sts., St. Louis". This is probably the seller of the cutter. Since I've only seen one other one like this, it may have been a salesman's sample. I can't verify that though.
-This little fellow is really an adorable industrial gem with its beautiful woodgrained sides, its dark forest green handle, old hardware, and gridded surface. All the wood has a great patina and shouts, "Vintage"! I'm not sure of the origin, but I believe it to be maple or oak.
-The cutter works very well, is still sharp and accurate.
-I guessed at the age of this trimmer as I could find no information as to when it was made. The other one that I did find was in poor condition and was termed, "antique".
-The condition is very good with the only real issue that I see being a corner chip in the wooden grid at the lower left corner. There is some surface wear and the green handle has a small amount of rust here and there, just what you'd expect for this utilitarian piece.
-The small 6" size makes this a great piece for your studio or office.
Wherever you use or display this little charmer, it will bring smiles and comments as to how cute it is! Such a versatile and practical piece with a big personality!
The cutter measures (with handle): 6 5/8" wide x 11 7/8" long x 2 1/2" high. The cutting surface alone measures: 6 3/8" wide x 6" long x 1 3/4" high.
