This item is a Wards Master Quality number 4 plane in good condition. The tote has at one time been broken near the base and has been glued. The knob has two cracks at the base one opposite the other that are about one half inch long each. Other than that this plane is mechanically good. There is some paint residue and the japanning is mostly gone. The body is rust free. See photo's. Stamped on the iron is, " WARDS MASTER QUALITY ". The lever cap has, " WARDS MASTER " cast into it. The body has, " 131 S " cast under the tote and, " No 4 " cast in front of the knob and, " MADE IN USA " cast behind the knob. This plane is 9 3/8 inches long with a 2 inch iron. The style of the body where the frog is attached seems to date this plane from 1902 to 1945. Please do your own research. I will use a USPS Medium Flat Rate Box Priority Mail if it is the cheaper way to ship and refund any overages the same day i ship. This cost to ship is $13.65.
