The 2 way lap loom weaving kit is a great way to learn to weave.
The lap loom has notches on both sides, so it is able to be used two ways! You can use it horizontally to make a longer and thinner piece or use it vertically to make a shorter and wider piece. When the loom is straight up and down (used horizontally) the dimensions are 10.5" long by 8" wide
The instruction manual will guide you through the weaving process from square one. It was written and designed for beginners. The kit also includes recommended warp yarn. This is the type of yarn I have found easy to use as warp thread especially for beginners. After used to warp the loom the warp yarn can also be used in the wall hanging.
The kit also includes yarn to make your wall hanging. A piece of linen ribbon is included. While the yarn colors are browns, cream & white. The yarn includes natural undyed Navajo Churro wool and a couple poly-blends mix. I find combining different fibers creates even more texture on the finished piece. Also included is a piece of navy & white striped fabric. Please see the color story in the photos above.
Two dowels are included in this kit. One small dowel is included to help complete a technique learned in the manual, and one medium dowel is included for hanging your piece.
Lastly, one tapestry needle is included in the kit.
Included in the kit: 1 lap loom 1 instruction manual 1 mini skein of warp thread 1 pack of crafting yarn (as shown in the pictures) 1 piece of linen ribbon 1 piece of striped fabric 1 small dowel 1 dowel for hanging 1 tapestry needle
