Prehistoric Jefferson Ground Sloth Tooth Fossil Status: Extinct
This is an authentic fossilized tooth fragment from an extinct ground dwelling sloth species Megalonyx jeffersoni. Commonly known as the Jefferson's Ground Sloth which lived between 10.3 Mya to 11,000 years ago. Inhabiting much of North America from Alaska down to Central America. This tooth was found in Taylor Co, Florida and is a unique rare fossil.
