This is a unique and beautiful set of two Pecos Valley Diamonds. These “diamonds” are actually a type of Quartz crystal, found only within a 20 mile radius in the entire world- the Pecos Valley Desert of New Mexico. I work hard gathering the stones from the desert floor, and now I’d like to share some of my collection with you ☺️.
The smaller stone is in excellent condition. Having (relatively) recently broken free of its gypsum matrix, it has very little wear, and loads of sparkle. It is primarily a very light peachy color that is almost clear in some lighting, with a bit of rust color on one of the doubly-terminated tips. I would say it is almost a textbook perfect “diamond” shape, but a bit less defined. The larger stone is what I refer to as a rosette shaped crystal, due to the resemblance of a beautiful blooming flower. It is a more flat crystal formation than the other stone, and has glistening spiked crystals protruding from its outer rim. It’s a slightly darker peach color (also with clearish bits) with a significant rusty area around the rim and creeping around to the top on one side.
These would make fantastic pendants for wire wrapped jewelry, or whatever other creative ideas you can come up with!
Metaphysical qualities: This mineral is said to enhance your desires and channel them in the way of physical growth. It is known to help stabilize emotions, and can be used to stimulate creativity and intuition, as well as being useful for cleansing, balancing, and energizing the chakras. Double terminated stones (coming to a point on each side) are special in their ability to both send and receive energy.
As you would expect with raw stones, these will have some natural wear. PLEASE NOTE: some photos were enhanced to show detail, and lighting variations also occur. The most accurate representation of the stones’ true colors is the lightest version shown (the main photo is a great example). Thank you!
