If you want to draw attention to your book bag, this is the pattern that will do it. Bright and sassy, and totally unique, this punch needle pattern would look good on any book bag you could ever want. Not just for a child, though I can see a youngster walking around with this canvas bag asking Mom to read a “fishy book,” this is a stand-apart copyrighted image that is just too fun.
It’s a very easy pattern and will work up quickly. I put a ruffle of felted black wool on this one, but with or without it, you’ll have this pattern completed in no time. The canvas bag is NOT INCLUDED, but they are widely available in large and small sizes on the Internet, or with your trusty coupon at Hobby Lobby.
The image size is 6.5” x 6.5” printed on weavers cloth that is 14” x 14”. You will need a punch needle tool, DMC perle cotton threads size 5, a punch needle frame, scissors, a small crochet hook, embroidery needle, fusible fabric, fabric glue, beeswax, and maybe some “Scotchguard” to protect your hard work from dust and spills. The project would be a sweet gift for a child; just drop in a book and know that the bag will take lots of trips to the library through the years. Consider personalizing the bag with a little calligraphy of the child’s name with a magic marker.
Please contact me with any questions about this pattern, or if you are interested in having this design transferred by hand to a 2.5’ x 3.5’ piece of monk’s cloth for a rug hooking project.
Shipping within the continental U.S. is FREE for this pattern until May 1, 2018. Outside the U.S., shipping costs will be calculated.
