Handspun Corriedale yarn for weaving, knitting, crochet, dye, and other crafts.
The colour of the wool is the natural medium colour it comes off the sheep, without dye or alterations. Because it is a natural product, there is some variation between the different batches. I see this as a bonus not a flaw, as it gives the finished cloth a more organic look. However, I do try to keep the lots the same, so be sure to buy enough for your whole project if you want a uniform appearance.
These singles are spun with a moderate variation in texture for that hanspun look and a firm twist for strength and durability. Excellent for warp and weft, sock knitting, and can even stand up to the rigors of a 100 year old sock knitting machine (see yellow picture).
Wonderful for dyeing. I dyed the above sample with alum and sheep sorrel on white wool. However, you can use this natural medium colour for dyeing for a subtle jewel-tone effect.
